Care depends on the metal, finish, stones and setting. Keep the specific care information that comes with a piece, and ask for it if it is not available. One cleaning method will not suit every material.
Give everything its own space.
Store pieces separately so links, settings and surfaces are less likely to rub together. Make sure chains are laid out or fastened in a way that helps prevent tangles.
Check before cleaning.
Follow the instructions for your particular piece before using cleaning products, soaking or specialist equipment. If you notice a loose setting or a damaged clasp, stop wearing the piece and ask for advice.
